Bruce Milam

Bruce is a Senior Strategic Advisor to Composition Wealth. Prior to his current role, Bruce served as CEO from 2023 to 2025, growing Composition from $4.5 billion to $9.5 billion in assets under management and establishing the firm as a leading RIA platform with the scale, team, and infrastructure to support future growth. This foundation has positioned the firm to accelerate its national expansion and continue executing on its long-term strategy, while remaining fully committed to excellence in client service.

Before joining Composition Wealth, Bruce worked for nearly a decade at Freestone Capital Management, an RIA based in Seattle, where he served as Chief Operating Officer. During his tenure, he led vision and strategy efforts and contributed to Freestone’s extraordinary growth accomplishments. Prior to that, Bruce spent over eight years as a Director at HBK Capital Management, building out the firm’s operations and technology infrastructure while also leading teams through large-scale transformations to drive scale and optimization.

Bruce received his Master of Professional Accounting at the Texas McCombs School of Business and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas, Austin. When he is not at work, Bruce enjoys being active—ideally doing something outdoors, traveling internationally, and keeping up with his twin teenage sons.
