Location: Seattle, WA
Job Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $150,000 - $215,000
Reports to: Head of Advisors
Company Overview:
At Composition Wealth, we are a dedicated team of financial professionals committed to providing comprehensive wealth management services to our clients while seeking sustainable growth. We value integrity, excellence, and nimbleness. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Director, Practice Management and Advisor Enablement, to join our growing team.
Job Description:
In short, this role is an opportunity to partner with advisors to drive impact across our advisor base and as an extension in the lives of our clients. This role will work directly with advisors across our national footprint to help them optimize the Composition Wealth platform. The successful candidate will be able to build rapport and earn the trust of our advisors as they set out to operate as a practice management coach and supporter of their work with clients. To do this well this person will need to be able to fully understand how their respective practice operates.
At the core of this work is identifying opportunities for improvement, pairing advisors with firm resources appropriately, developing business plans together, and all the while driving impact through a standards driven practitioner’s mindset. Measurement of success will be based on the trust established, helping them drive organic growth, client retention, and integration of their practice. This role will see our advisors as their clients and look to positively influence the client-advisor experience! An incredible opportunity to help our advisors optimize their practice by fully integrating the Composition Wealth capabilities and resources.
This role will have the autonomy to construct the coaching effort end to end: including the curriculum, partnering with the wealth management team for proper scorecard development, and playbook authorship that will reduce variability in how planning gets delivered across the firm. In addition to partnering with our Wealth Strategy Group (WSG), Investment Services Group (ISG), and other leaders in the firm to surround our client-advisor relationships with a referrable experience.
This role reports to the Head of Advisors and is central to institutionalizing advisor excellence as we scale organically and through acquisition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Become the trusted advisor to the advisors you coach — the relationship they turn to first. Build genuine rapport and credibility with experienced, independent-minded professionals (including advisors more tenured than you) so that candid development conversations are welcomed. Trust is the foundation of the relationship and critical to success.
- Identify coaching opportunities by analyzing advisor practice data, client outcomes, growth trends, and qualitative input, then translate those findings into clear, prioritized development needs.
- Design and deliver customized coaching strategies and development plans tailored to each advisor's practice stage, growth goals, and skill gaps — spanning business development, financial planning delivery, client experience, and practice management.
- Partner closely with the Head of Advisors and the firm's discipline leads (investments, advanced planning, business development, and tax) to align coaching content with the firm's broader enablement curriculum and strategic priorities.
- Establish metrics and outcome scorecards to track the effectiveness of coaching engagements, connecting coaching activity to tangible results in organic growth, wallet share, and client retention.
- Conduct regular one-on-one coaching sessions, practice reviews, and goal-setting conversations with advisors, holding them accountable to agreed-upon action plans.
- Identify patterns across the advisor base to inform firm-wide training, playbooks, and best-practice sharing, reducing variability in how advisors deliver planning and grow their practices.
- Support the onboarding and integration of advisors joining through acquisitions, ensuring new advisors are quickly enrolled in coaching and aligned to the Composition Way.
- Partner with leadership to continuously refine the coaching model, incorporating advisor feedback and evolving best practices in the field.
- Travel as needed to meet with advisors in person across the country and represent the coaching function at firm events, advisor meetings, and training sessions.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 7-10+ years in financial services, with meaningful direct experience coaching, managing, or developing financial advisors or planners.
- CFP® certification, or CIMA®, CFA®, CPWA®, or equivalent.
- Experience leading M&A integration or onboarding advisors from acquired practices.
- Experience designing training curricula or enablement programs at scale.
- Confirmed ability to build trust quickly with experienced, independent-minded advisors, including those senior to or more tenured than the coach.
- Demonstrated success designing and delivering individualized development plans that produced measurable improvements in advisor performance.
- Deep understanding of financial services, comprehensive financial planning, and the RIA business model.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience using practice and performance data to identify coaching priorities and track outcomes.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to deliver candid, constructive feedback in a way that motivates rather than discourages.
- Strong business judgment with the ability to prioritize competing opportunities and effectively manage risk.
- Comfort operating with a national scope, managing relationships and travel across a geographically distributed advisor base.
- Composition Wealth does not provide immigration-related sponsorship (e.g., H-1B, TN, STEM OPT, etc.) for this role.
